Accommodation near Gnosjö and Töllstorp
Gnosjö is known for its companies, but the Töllstorp area offers more than industrial history: there are also MTB trails, exercise tracks and an indoor pool. Stay at Kämpabo outside Anderstorp and choose between outdoor activities and a museum visit.
In Töllstorp you get to see how iron and metal wire could become products for everyday life. Trip hammers, wire drawing, wire mesh weaving, and older manufacturing machines show different stages of the work. Among the objects manufactured are hairpins and pot ears.
The Töllstorp area – MTB, roller skiing and swimming
Töllstorp has several MTB trails of varying difficulty and exercise tracks where you can run and roller ski. Töllstorpshallen has an indoor pool, making the area suitable for both training and a family activity during your stay.
Two longer trails from the area also link Töllstorp with Isaberg and Store Mosse respectively, so you can combine several excursion destinations.
Töllstorp Industrial Museum – industrial history from the 1700s
The museum environment gathers buildings and workshops that tell the story of the emergence of small industry. Here it becomes easier to understand how small-scale production developed and why water power was of such great importance.
Gnosjö Local History Society keeps the museum open during the summer months and arranges tours. Check current opening hours and when a guided tour can be conducted before planning the day. If you want to visit the museum as a group, you should find out about booking options in advance.
Plan for a Tour
Hyltén's Industrial Museum shows a preserved metal factory with machines, tools, and offices. A visit there can provide a different picture of the district's manufacturing than the workshops in Töllstorp. Check the opening hours for each museum; they have different visitor setups.
